We're Back!!!!

So it's been almost a year since I posted here.Guestbook is gone due to Lyco's, pisses me off that I lost all those years of entry's and can't recover them. So much has happened in the past year and I just didn't have time to even post here. Two of my boxers Nikki and Lucky passed away, lost one cat Frank who we had for about 12 years and just this Labor Weekend, I had to put down one of my horses, Toot-Toot, she was 26 years old and I had her since she was two.

On to bikes:Streetglide now has 105,000 miles on it. At 98,000 all he needed was a new set of rings. I put a new drive belt and rear sprocket on as preventitive maintenance since they were the originals. Can't say enough about running full synthetic, my bike is proof that it is worth the extra dollar or two per qt.

Cruella has had a facelift. I wish I had a guestbook up to get your feedback, I'm workin on gettn a new one up. I do have a facebook site, look up Cruel Hellkat.Heres a few pics:

NO PAN YET!!!!!!!!
So now fall is here, haven't rode the Pan once this year. I should have never decided to paint it. I got the paint back from my brotherin law, what a disaster. I finally took it to Jim Hooker, excellant painter, just didn't think I could afford him. He was great, got it done in about two weeks. I took the bike out of the shop to one of my techs house so he could do some fabricating on the shift linkage. I couldn't beleive it, the main reason I took it to work was to fix the tranny seal leak over the winter, well.... must have pinched that seal because out of nowhere she started to leak on the lift again. So then I get the paint back and now it doesn't match the seat just right, so....I take the seat back and have it recovered AGAIN. It will be spring before I probably will get to ride her, maybe not, just so much been going on in my personal life, not much time to focus on anything else right now. I quit my job at the Dealership where I had been working the past three years on September 30th and started the next day at GATEWAY HARLEY DAVIDSON in St. Louis in their Service Department. My previous job took up every second of my so called life. I gave up my family, my club, my animals my FREEDOM and it was taking a toll on me and it was time to move on. One day at Gateway made me realize that I do have a life, I love the place, the people, just everything about it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm still working long hours, but they are stress free and it's really good to feel appreciated and respected by your employer and I never got that one time at my prior job, never got a raise in over three years, promises, promises. I'm still amazed how two dealerships under the Harley Davidson name can be so different. I'm actually having fun again at work and I don't dread going there. Everyday is a new adventure and my customer following from the other store is amazing. Thanks to all of you that have expressed your kind words and that have followed me to my new location. That means alot to me to know I made a difference and to where you will do your bussiness from now on. It's all about honesty and true concern for my customers needs and concerns. Each and everyone is treated equally whether they have $100.00 to spend or $10,000.00. Some people didn't see it that way and it would piss me off to see them cater to the ones that would drop a big chunk of change over the loyal customer that just needed a tire or advice. I feel as though I have been freed from Prison and this is the start of my new life.  I'm actually going to start working out again, haven't had time to do that. Was hoping to turn 100,000 on Hammer before the end of the year, but don't think that is gonna happen. I only ride 70 miles round trip to work. I'm picking up a 1991 Ford Ranger tomorrow, one owner with only 51,000 miles on it. It will be for days when I can't ride, won't take the bike out if it's below freezing in the morning when I have to leave, and we have already hit 27 one morning. My Big truck gets 12 mpg and I just can't afford to drive it to the city, so I will park it except for really bad weather when I need 4WD. Went to Minnesota for Helloween Party with some of my sisters. Hopefully I will get pics of the Pan soon. Thanks for listening, CG

THE PAN UPDATE

After looking at my Guestbook and reading Chev's post, I didn't realize till I got to lookin at this page how long it's been.Still workin my ass off and gettn up at 5:30 and gettn home at 8:30 doesn't leave me but 1.5 hours a day to relax eat dinner, laundry etc. I got my paint back on the pan and it wasn't what I wanted, I didn't like it. I sent it up to my brotherinlaw to repaint and I just found out this week that he hadn't even started on it. I just want my tank back so I can ride. I've made a few weekend escapes here and there, went north for memorial day weekend. The FLHX has been a really good bike and I don't have any plans of gettn rid of it anytime soon. Old faithful is just gettn broke in, 83,000 miles on him now, would have turned that 100,000 mile mark along time ago if I wasn't stuck at work Mon-Saturday. Nothing really planned til 4th of July weekend and Sturgis of course. Hopefully get my tank back soon and Cruella will be up and running. I'm just gonna drop hm a line and have him send my tank back as it. You'll see why I didn't like it, the paint on the tank doesn't match my seat in color and the panel on the side is fucked up. BIKE SHOW

Spring is FINALLY here!!!! Been in the 80's the past few days. Cruella isn't finished yet, can't wait to show her to ya. Just waiting on the paint, nothing special, but a little color going on her this time. Going to the Bike Show in St. Paul this weekend, stop by the Hells Angels MN booth and you'll find me and the girls there with our new Support gear. REVAMPING OF CRUELLA
So I finally got Cruella into work for a complete revamp. I don't get but and hour a day to work on her during lunch, so the process is slow. The petcock was leaking so she's getting a new Pingel. I have had a bubble under the paint on the tank since she was last painted and I have been trying to decide as to let it go, or get her painted. Couple of the guys as in the shop have been pushing me to repaint her, not sure on that yet. Tranny was leaking big time, just happened this fall, so I got the primary off to replace the seals. I also realized what I though was a base gasket leak was coming from the base of the magneto, so that's a relief in itself not to have to pull that all down. Now for all you people that have given me shit the past few years about going to a hand clutch, well quit your bitching cause the jock is going back on. One of my techs at work is fabricating me a custom shifter knob. You probably can't see it from the picture's, but as a joke they wire tied on a long rod with a little 8 ball on it. I've got a few months before spring to get her ready, so sit back and wait. Happy New Year to you All, CG

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Where has this year gone, I don't know, but Christmas sure came up awful fast. Guess that's the old age thing, seem's like it was just Summer and then out of nowhere, Christmas is this week. Work has slowed some as far as bussiness goes, but not for me, because I'm still working a full schedule and then some due to all the extended Holiday hours which really doesn't include the service dept much, but they like for us to be there and it gives me the opportunity to talk with customers about doing performance upgrades. I've been working on my tech schooling in between while it's not to busy. I'm going to be taking the Pan into work as soon as I get a decent day. We had a cold spell here last week with ice and there is a ton of salt and cinders on the road, I may have to put her in the back of the truck just so she doesn't have to face the abuse of all that crap. I need to tear her down to the base gaskets and I put it off last year, and now's the time. I can do it on my lunch breaks. Hammer is pushing the 80,000 mile mark and I have no complaints, what a great bike he is. I saw what I thought was the bike of my dreams come in the other day, a 2011 SE Streetglide in Black. I sat on it and that was all it took to tell me, #1, I can't afford it, #2 it's to heavy for me, #3 sits to high off the ground and #4 I have a great bike that is still cable operated and I don't need a new bike. End of discussion. I am sold on my Streetglide for my distance bike, but I don't like the electronic throttle in all the new touring bikes. Besides, my bike will leave those 110 factory motors in my rear view mirror. Went to a benefit last week down at Fatboy's in Desoto for the food pantry and the weather was really bad, so the turnmout was not good this year. Kathy over at the biking life magazine does such a good job with this everyyear. I know they could still use some donation's, so if you live anywhere near Desoto, MO. you might want to drop off some canned goods. Down here we still say " Have a Merry Christmas, and God Bless You all."CG

STURGIS AND MORE
And so another Sturgis has come and gone. I rode 700 miles the first day and hooked up with Ferrell Kat in Mitchell. I can't remember a Sturgis with no rain(well at least not rain on me). We had the best riding ever, put another 1,000+ miles on once we got there. I'm getting ready to leave for MN, I managed five days off in a row. There is a benefit posted on events that I will be attending, it's this coming Sat, Oct 2nd. If the weatherman is right, it's going to be sunny all weekend in Minneapolis, so come on down to the Whiskey and show your Suuport. This will probably be the last ride for the season on my bike to MN, sure to be snowing by Helloween, which means I'll be in the Truck. Cold doesn't bother me, but I don't do ice and snow very well on the bike. Thank you for all the condolences on the loss of Ike and Kid, CG

RIP MR KID CZECH 4-18-1981/7-4-2010
My 4th of July celebration came to a halt. I left work on Saturday night and rode to Iowa City, IA to knock off a few miles on my way to Minneapolis. My horse Kid has been battling a heart murmor for the past month. I had been working with my vet trying some different medications to keep him stablized, every morning before I left for work I would go up and give him his medication and repeat it when I got home at night. The past few days he seemed as though he was coming around, he lost quite a bit of weight since his heart wasn't pumping normally. I left town thinking he was stable because he was eating well and getting his spunk back. I left instructions with my husband as what to give him. I got up early and was just getting ready to pack my bike up on July 4th, I was in Iowa and my husband called me at 7:00am to tell me that Kid had passed away. He was there with him, so he wasn't alone. I would have never left town if I thought for one minute that he would die the minute I left town, I should have been there with him. I cancelled my trip to MN and headed back home yesterday. Trying to find a excavator on a Sunday and a holiday at that is no easy task. We called everyone in the book around our area. We finally got someone out here this morning and we laid Kid to rest. I will miss you my friend, you lived a long 29 years and I'm so happy to have had you as my friend and companion all those miles we hauled together. You were one of the greats, fourth generation out of MANOWAR, great grandson of WAR ADMIRAL and Grandson of MR KID CHARGE, all legends. RIP KID, LOVE YOU FOREVER!

RIP IKE

And yet we have lost another family member, Ike passed away a few weeks ago, he was the 13. It came very quickly that he stopped eating and was having difficulty breathing. Took him to the vet knowing in my heart he wasn't coming home. My tripawd boxer was deeply moarning him, so I found her a companion last week, my friend Muck had a older boxer in need of a new home, so Lucky has joined our family of critters, all 105lb. of him, that's big for a boxer. I rode the Pan into the work last week and when I got there I noticed one of the springs on the front end looked sprung, so she got all new springs and a new front shock, they had never been replaced since I have owned her. Waiting on a new set of clutch plates right now. I'm on the back side of 60,000 on the FLHX, 66,000+, he's still running strong. I sure like the new FLHX SE, but don't have the funds to buy one, plus I would probably have to do motor work to it to make it run as good as Hammer. The HELLKATS are having a Memorial Weekend ride in memory of Skat and Cody, it will be posted on events later today and it's for Women Bikers only. I say this because we actually had a guy in drag try and pass himself off to us as a girl and couldn't understand why he wasn't accepted. PLEASE READ

  I didn't write this, but I surely could have. I'm more terrified for all of us after the Health Care bill was passed last night. Some you just sit back and do nothing, your not paying attention. This bill will now tax any small bussiness owner .60 on every dollar they make over $250,000.00.  If you own a small bussiness and you employ two or three people, $250,000.00 isn't a lot of income, think about it. So they will now have to give .60 of every dollar after $250,000.00 to the Government so that all the illegals can have free health care. I didn't vote for Bush either, but I had a wakeup call as to what the Democrats are all about and I will NEVER, EVER vote for a DEMOCRAT again and this is coming from a family who has lost two jobs over the past 25 years to the American auto industry. In the time when I am supposed to be enjoying retirement with my husband, I am now forced to work for the next 15 years. I am fortunate to have a job and it's a job I like, but it wasn't supposed to be like this. Think hard, watch Fox News before you vote next time. They speak the TRUTH. I'm 63.  Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired.  

 

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.  

 

I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes."  Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed F ann ie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.  

 

I'm tired of being told how bad  America  is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities  America  offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States  will have the economy of  Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of  China , the crime and violence of  Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of  Iran , and the freedom of speech of  Venezuela .

 

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.  

 

I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois.  

 

I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln  wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government.  

 

I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News?  Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.  

 

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let  Saudi Arabia  use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in  America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in  Saudi Arabia  to teach love and tolerance.  

 

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs.. We also own a  three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough.  

 

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.  

 

I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living on welfare or crime. What's next?  Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"?  And, no,  I'm not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it's been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion.  I'm willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn't have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military.... Those are the citizens we need.  

 

I'm tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war?  You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave?  Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are?  Not even close.  So here's the deal. I'll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims, who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we'll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.  

 

I'm tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I'm tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in  Illinois , where the "Illinois Combine" of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama's cabinet.  

 

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.  

 

Speaking of poor, I'm tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn't have that in 1970, but we didn't know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.  

 

I'm real tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.  

 

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!!!


 

Well another year has come and gone, this one really flew by. I guess it's just part of life and getting older as we loose friends and family and of course our beloved pets. I didn't make my goal in riding miles, which really, I have never had a goal, it just happens. But with the seven day work schedule, it has not givin me the freedom that I have been so fortunate to have over the years to just take off when ever I wanted to and ride. I am thankfull that I have a job and one that fit's me purrfectly. We are closed until January 2nd, so I have had some much needed time off. I'm headed to Minneapolis in the morning for a few days to spend New Years with my HELLKAT Sisters up there. I will be back next year and hopefully I will find the time to update this site. As for the inquiries, no I'm not on facebook. I can't find the time to update here, so I surely don't have time to socialize there. When I got online the other day, under my private screen name I had over 300 unread emails alone. Happy New Year!CG

HOLIDAY SEASON

 

I lost my little Isabella two week's ago. She wasn't doing real well, has had lot's of problems over the years with skin allergies, thyroid problems, arthritis, but she was my long time rodeo companion, traveled across the country and back with me. I had given her a bath in the morning because I was going to take her to the vet late afternoon. I let her outside and she walked around the shrubs and I only turned my back for a second and she had walked back into the mudroom and was laying on the rug breathing real heavy. I picked her up and she had a  heart attack right there in my arms and died within one minute. I guess it was God's way of sparing me the grief of possibly having to make the decision later on that day as whether or not it was time to put her down.

Work has slowed down quite a bit. I'm finally getting a life back, we're closed on Sun and Mon for the winter months. I usually spend Sunday sleeping and I'm working out again with Sensei on Monday mornings, man am I out of shape. Spent Helloween in Minnesota with my Hellkat Sisters and I will be heading up that that way over the Christmas/New Year Holiday period. Our shop is closed during that time, so I'll have some time off.

My daughter came over for Thanksgiving, and we had the usual Turkey dinner, just the three of us and all the critter's.

Pretty much have put Cruella up for the winter. haven't got much riding in this year, I'll be lucky to turn 15,000 before the year is over. I ride to work every day, but that's only a 52 mile roundtrip. If I know it's going to be a shitty day, than I'll take my truck on that particular day to get supplies whie I'm in town. Hammer is running real good, just about 65,000 mile on him now. I was looking up some stuff for Sturgis for this next year and I browsed at some of the pictures and didn't have to look far to find this one, it was a thumbnail leading to a whole page of pictures.

Yup, I'm wearing Red & White striped socks with below the knee cropped jeans, my version of shorts on a bike, which I seldom do. Already making plans for this next year and it is a week later this year being the 70th and all, so don't screw up thinking that it's the first week. LABOR DAY
I had a nice Labor Day weekend, put about 1600 on the Streetglide. I got off my usual path that I run up to MN and took some farm roads up. No set roads, just kept heading north. Met up with a couple of my sister's in Rochester. On Saturday we rode up to a party near Forbes, MN. This had to be the best weather I have ever encountered over Labor Day in MN. I stayed until Tuesday morning. Then back to work this week. Next road trip will be in October, until then, just some local stuff. Have a Great week, CG

IT'S BEEN SIX MONTHS..........

So it's not like I haven't wanted to update this place like I used to do, but I haven't had time for much of anything these days. I'm working 6-7 days a week, 10+ hrs a day. I don't even get to see my horses anymore, they're in the barn when I leave in the morning and the same when I get home at night. I made it to my Karate Banquet and Tournament back in June and got my year end award in Sparring only since I didn't do much competeing this past year. The tournament itself didn't go well for me as I screwed up my Kata and yes.....got DQ'd in my first round of sparring, this time for excessive contact and unsportsmanlike behavior, whatever that means. We lost the dojo where I trained at, but I do get to go workout if  I can find time in the morning before work at a gym. I very seldom get to train with my sensei, hopefully we will be closing the shop on Sunday and Mondays soon. I get to ride to work everyday, but that's just a big tease, I've only put 10,000 miles on my bikes so far this year. Hammer turned 60,000 this month. I was able to ride to MN over Memorial day and I went to Sturgis and had the best ride out there I have had in years. Partly do to the fact that I was so needing to get away from work and the weather was good except for the hail storm in Sturgis. I got two dents in Hammer's front fender. I've been riding the Pan to work quite a bit, she's running good as ever. I have my one year in at the shop this Wednesday and I get 10 days paid vacation that I have to use before the end of the year, so I have a long Labor Day weekend planned and lot's of riding to do. I will try and stay current here. Thanks for your letter's of concern, but I'm fine, just don't feel much like sitting at a computer if I have two hours of free time when I get home before I have to go to bed. I posted some pics below, 4th of July, one from the banquet and one of me and Big Schwag and then some from Sturgis.
